April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is one of a few female players of beach volleyball who have achieved this feat. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics, will try to earn her third gold medal. More than that though Ross hopes to win her first Olympic gold. There is a chance that she has one opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. However, she's confident that top honors are firmly at hand. Ross was mentioned on NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your top, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. "I'm planning to test to have a bit of luck." Ross was born on the 22nd, 1982 located in Costa Mesa California. She resided in the area with her family. Ross played in numerous sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. She competed in basketball and track in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements as a pre-collegiate athlete. However, she was a standout in this sport. According to her biography, she was an outside blocker as well as a middle volleyball player during her senior year at high school. For her efforts she was named the 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. The skills she showed in volleyball also earned her an Orange County Athlete of the Awards in the year 2000. Even though Ross and Klineman have been doing their thing since 2017, the former was already a big-time player on the beach scene even before the pair formed. In fact, she won multiple major tournaments in the past with two different partners. one of which is a volleyball icon. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 to 2013. She also coached Klineman and herself. Kessy was Ross's partner on the 2009 World Championships. The duo eventually captured a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team as well as Kerri Jennings won the gold. Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The duo won the beach volleyball bronze in the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross started her college time with the Trojans at USC in graduation from high school. It was a long time before Ross hit the beach and became a pro. Her experience at USC was quite impressive. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she fought her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year awards and was an All-American. Additionally, she was an integral player for helping the Trojans to make it to it to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore year however she was able to return as an All-American. The last two years as a member of the Trojans team they won success by winning two consecutive national championships. Her individual achievements have cemented her status as a legend in volleyball. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross studied the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross achieve beach volleyball's top level. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast when she was in her sophomore year at USC. Her mother is still dear. Margie remains a source of inspiration, both off and on of the beach.
